Over 250 volunteers will contribute to the success of a new major football event in Romania.

On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, registrations for the volunteer program of the UEFA Under 21 Championship Georgia-Romania 2023 officially opened. The program is open to all people who will be 18 years old by June 1, 2023 and who want to enrich their personal experience by contributing to the success of a major sporting event.

As in the case of UEFA EURO 2020, when over 800 volunteers were part of the team that organized 4 matches in Bucharest, the volunteer program for UEFA Under 21 promises an unforgettable experience.

Volunteers will be an integral part of the organization of the UEFA Under 21 Championship and the volunteer program will be implemented by the local organizing structures (LOS) in the two countries. The volunteer management team within this structure will be responsible for recruiting, training and managing volunteers during the event.

The volunteer program will be available both in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca, and each volunteer will be assigned to one of the 4 host stadiums of the competition: Giulești, Steaua, Cluj Arena and Dr. Constantin Rădulescu.

Volunteers selected to be part of the event team can choose to contribute to one of 10 projects:

  • Venue Management
  • Venue Broadcasting
  • Media Services and Operations
  • Commercial Operations
  • Match Organisation
  • Accreditation
  • Hospitality
  • Ticket
  • Ceremonies
  • Volunteer Management

“Starting with the beautiful story written by over 800 teammates at EURO 2020 in Bucharest and continuing with the matches of the national teams, the volunteers involved in the events organized by the FRF have made an unparalleled contribution in recent years. I have seen extremely diverse groups of people, brought together by a passion for football or volunteering, achieve remarkable things. This new event gives us a chance to create new memories together.” – Andrei Angelescu, Volunteer Program Manager EURO U21
