”I want to invite everyone that is 18 or higher, that is available during the tournament and speaks English to be part of the Romanian National Volunteers Team! These heroes are considered the team behind the team, because without their support the successful organization of such big sporting events worldwide wouldn’t be possible.

The volunteers, the ones that promote values such as solidarity, respect, fair-play and team work act, at the same time, as ambassadors of the tournament in their interactions with the fans and the UEFA managers. They will practically be the first Romanian faces the people visiting our countries during the tournament will see.” said Diana Pirciu, Volunteer Manager for UEFA EURO 2020 in Bucharest. In the recruitment process, an important role as an ambassador will be played by the “captain” of the Romanian National Volunteers team, Andrei Lăcătuș, also known as Shurubel, radio host at Virgin Radio Romania.

Three reasons why you should register as a volunteer

1: A “once in a lifetime” experience: The objective of the UEFA EURO 2020 volunteer programme is to integrate and gather the population across Europe, as well as creating a legacy for the 12 host countries. Furthermore, it is UEFA’s ambition to ensure individuals enjoy an unforgettable experience that encourages others to volunteer for European football events in future.

2: “Join the team – register now”: Volunteers will play a key role in the organization of UEFA EURO 2020. Don’t miss your chance to be part of an event taking place across Europe. Register now!

3: “Volunteers are our ambassadors”: The volunteers are the face of UEFA EURO 2020, because they will be the ones that will directly interact with the fans and all the people participating at the tournament. As usual, the volunteers will be supporting the various projects, from accreditation to ceremonies, from transportation to media, from ticketing to match organization and spectator services at the stadium.

UEFA EURO 2020 will be the biggest European tournament ever organized, taking place in 12 countries across Europe. A total of 12000 volunteers will be needed for what will be the most diversified volunteer programme ever, offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to the thousands of people involved.

After the official launch of the program in all venues, by 12 of July, the interview phase will follow (between July and 30th of November 2019).

By January 2020 the volunteers will have their roles assigned and starting March 2020, they will participate in specialized trainings, depending on the domain they’ve been assigned to.

The operational phase will take place between 1st of May and 1st of July 2020, after which a “Thank you” party will be organized for the volunteers to celebrate, as a team, a successful end of the tournament.
