As the 100th anniversary of Romania’s Great Union approaches, the Romanian Football Federation has a surprise for all football fans. The National Football Team got its first brand identity in history and a new kit. The announcement was made during a ceremony held Friday, 3 November 2017, at Stejarii Country Club. The new identity was presented by its creator, Aneta Bogdan, Managing Partner of Brandient.

The new emblem of the national team is a modern reinterpretation of Romania’s coat of arms, containing the adapted symbols of the five Romanian provinces grouped around a pentagon reminiscent of a football patch.

The new kit was also presented during the event, being worn by three promising players of the Under 19 national team: Andrei Vlad, Andrei Sîntean and Andrei Trușescu.

The Sporting manager of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), Adrian Mutu, also handed in the new jersey to Vlad Dragomir, to mark its passing to the new generation.

"Starting today, the National Team will wear a coat of arms that brings together the history of Romania and their support for victory. The new coat of arms of the National Team and the new kit will be a call to unity and commitment for all the national players of today and tomorrow. This is because only together we can be better and win", said the President of FRF, Răzvan Burleanu.

"I am very happy that the National Team’s new road coincides with this new kit and new identity. As you know, I’ve been and I’ll always be a fighter and a patriot and this is why I believe that wearing with even more pride this jersey ennobled by Romania’s coat of arms and fighting every second for all Romanians will make a difference for the players”, added Romania’s National Team coach, Cosmin Contra.

The new identity, put by Joma into a modern kit

The new identity of the National Team symbolizes the unity of Romanians, and Joma contributes to this with a modern and innovative kit that will make the players and supporters stand out on the stadiums of the world.

The new kit comes with the latest technical innovations and the quality and distinctiveness of Joma – the top sportswear brand in Spain and the third worldwide. It is made of a type of polyester fiber specially designed for sports gear, using a state-of-the-art treatment that improves its resistance to perspiration. In addition to that, the sides of the jersey, which are more exposed to perspiration, are made using the Micro-Mesh technology, which facilitates the evaporation of perspiration, improving players’ comfort.

This is the kit the Romanian National Team will use as it embarks on a new endeavor: qualifying for EURO 2020.

Joma created a jersey based on the colors of the Romanian flag and on the distinctive symbols of Romania’s history. The front bears the new shield in flock satin, a heat-sealed 3D transfer that gives maximum definition and photographic quality. This shield featured on the new kit reflects all regions of the country and symbolizes the unity of Romanians.

Another feature is the embossed eagle – the representative symbol of Romania’s coat of arms. The horizontal parts and the elastic collar of the jersey are made in the three colors of the Romanian flag.

Many other details were added for excellent quality and perfect fit; the jersey is made in one piece sewn only in the shoulders area for improved comfort, with elastic ribbing at the collar and sleeves for a better fit, and Micro-Mesh fabric on sides to improve breathability.

Many other details were added by Joma to the new kit to make a customized jersey for the players and fans of the Romanian National Team.

The print on the back reads "Romania", while the slogan "Împreună suntem fotbal" ("Together, we are football") is printed on the inside of the collar.

The first and the second kit both feature the traditional yellow and red colors, while the goalkeeper’s kit will be available in three different colors: black, purple and green.

Joma applied the brand’s established standards in designing the new kits for the national Football Team of Romania, including both the professional jerseys and the replicas to be sold to fans.
