Big names among the qualified teams + a debutant!

Spain, the reigning U19 European champions and nine-time winners of the tournament in its current format, qualified by winning a tough and balanced group, eliminating France, Italy (the host nation), and Latvia. The Spaniards beat France 2-1, drew 2-2 with Italy, and secured a dominant 4-1 win over Latvia. Italy, despite beating France 2-0, surprisingly drew 1-1 with Latvia in their first match!

Germany, two-time U19 European champions, dominated the group they hosted in the Elite Round, securing three wins in three matches. The Germans beat Slovenia 2-0, Finland 2-1, and Ireland 1-0, qualifying without conceding a single goal in the final stage of the qualifiers!

England, also a two-time U19 European champion, competed in an Elite Round group hosted in Wales and topped the group ahead of the hosts, Turkey, and Portugal. The English opened with a 2-0 win over Wales, drew 0-0 with Turkey, and clinched qualification with a 1-0 victory over Portugal.

The Netherlands, U19 EURO semi-finalists in 2017, qualified by topping their group hosted by the Czech Republic, finishing ahead of the hosts, Croatia, and Luxembourg. The Dutch began the Elite Round with a 2-1 win over Croatia, followed by an unexpected 0-0 draw with Luxembourg, and then secured a dominant 4-0 win over the Czech Republic in the decisive match.

Norway, semi-finalists at the 2023 U19 EURO, earned their spot in the Romanian-hosted tournament from a very balanced group played in Serbia. Alongside the host nation, Belgium and Israel also competed. The Norwegians had a perfect run, winning all three matches: 2-0 vs Belgium, 2-1 vs Israel, and 2-1 vs Serbia. Interestingly, their last two victories came with goals scored in stoppage time!

Denmark joins the Nordic presence after an impressive qualification campaign, winning all matches in a group that included Austria, Hungary (the host), and Iceland. The Danes kept clean sheets in their first two matches (2-0 vs Iceland and 1-0 vs Hungary), and then secured a 2-1 win over Austria in the decisive match.

Montenegro will make their debut at a U19 continental final tournament after an exceptional run in another very balanced Elite Round group hosted by Georgia. The Montenegrins drew 1-1 with Slovakia, beat Poland 1-0, and—needing a win in their final match to qualify ahead of Poland—succeeded with a 3-1 comeback win over Georgia, despite trailing since the 7th minute!
