The Romanian Football Federation organizes each year the sports leadership program Youth Council, an opportunity for young football enthusiasts to make a positive change in the local sports industry.

This year, 50 volunteers from the EURO 2020 Volunteer Program have joined Youth Council and participated to 11 interactive webinars held by Romanian and international sports professionals.

For 3 days, the speakers shared their experiences and best practices with all the participants. The discussion topics varied from the power of volunteering, strategic communications, and event planning to the legal aspects of a sports event, how to create powerful sports brands, and how to set clear objectives and KPIs when it comes to sport organizations.

At the end of the sessions, all participants were briefed for the final project – a practical session through which they can share their ideas of sports projects that can have a positive impact on developing the local sports industry.

– “I loved the attitude of the speaker towards us, I feel them very open to learn us from their experience and respond to our curiosities. I am again happy I chose to join UEFA EURO 2020 and to take part of this amazing programme” Flori, UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer
– “I am glad I have the chance to stay involved in the football activities before EURO 2020. I was really happy to see the team and to get more insights about sport business.” Florin, UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer
– “Really enjoyed the insights provided by the speakers – watching, in real time the best practices and the perks of utilizing such a platform. Little by little, I am confident that this will become the norm amongst all the local pro football clubs, too” Andrei, UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer

This year, Youth Council set a record of over 120 participants from 5 different countries. And we were happy to have a significant number of UEFA EURO 2020 volunteers joining the program.
Once again, we have met one of our most important objectives: offering education opportunities for our volunteers.
